What a difference a year makes. Gone was the rain from the first event of 2007 to be replaced with a warm sunny evening.

According to the forecast we had 14 deg C, a 12mph wind blowing to the north west, pressure of 1018mb and a relative humidity of 69. Basically a good night to race! We had an excellent turn out with 6 club riders in the field of 16. The club riders times were good when compared to the times of last year. The course was excellently marshelled by club mates who were giving up a ride (or a sit in the garden!!) on a lovely night. The gap between this race and the mountain time trial meant that we saw no bikes with bits being tested for the forthcoming MTT on 18th May.

The night was won by Dave Robinson of the Gosforth R.C. with a good time of 23.13. First Vag was Howard with a 24.06. It was nice to see an old member Ian McGeorge now with the Phoenix back competing on the club course. Special mention has to go to 12 year-old Conor Henderson also of the Phoenix; a 36.40 is a good ride on this course for someone so young. See you all at round 2...
