Houghton C.C. are promoting a 100km Audax on Sunday 30th March 2008. This is a new event on the Audax calendar and the first time Houghton C.C. have promoted a 100k event.
The title will give you a clue to the terrain which is challenging and offers 1800m of climbing through some stunning countryside, just the thing to test your early season legs. There will be free food and drink at the finish and the entry is limited to 60 riders, so please try to get your entry in early.
Entries close 15th March, no entry on the day.
Entry forms can be downloaded from the Audax website: www.audax.uk.net
Please note you do not need to be an Audax member to ride Audax events.
From a 9am start from the community centre in Lanchester, Co. Durham, the ride passes through the North Pennines via Blanchland, Allenheads, Nenthead and Stanhope, and takes in such delights as Muggleswick Dene, Rookhope Head (490m), Black Hill (600m), Killhope Cross ( 620m) and Crawleyside Bank. Controls at cafes in Allenheads and Nenthead, plus two roadside.
