Women and Girls (WAGs)

WAGs (Women and Girls) are a lively group of women of all ages and capabilities who enjoy cycling. We meet at 10 am every Sunday at the Station Cottages car park behind the Merton Way Shopping Centre in Ponteland.

Our Sunday social rides are around 30 - 40 miles depending on the time of year and always have a café stop.  We tend to average around 12mph so a road bike is advisable.

Our rides are for you if you would like to explore Northumberland's quiet roads with a diverse and friendly group of women.  As well as our social rides there are often groups of WAGs that take part in local sportives, audax rides, and encourage each other to enter other events like the club time trials.

Following the runaway success of the following WAGs events in 2013 we plan to run some further classes as the weather improves:

  • Sunday skills classes before our Sunday rides
  • Bike maintenance classes

We also have regular social events and nights out without bikes and lycra.  All up and coming events are posted on the WAGs website page.
