Club Hill Climb Saturday 7th October

The hill climb is run as usual on the Sandhoe course near Hexham :-

Most people meet for the Vags 10am ride at Kirkley Farm and then ride out to the climb as a club ride, and incorporate the "freewheel competition" en route. Last year it took us about 90 mins to get to the start so I would be anticipating the actual TT to be starting sometime after 11.30. Its a pay as you ride event and last year was at the bargain price of £2 a head. I will drive over and take the box with me with all the equipment needed for the event. We dont need any marshals on the course but I will need a starting timekeeper - there are usually plenty of people on the ride who are prepared to take one for the team and avoid the suffering involved by helping out instead.

Current records as follows:
Male Senior and Junior 2.28
Male U16 2.47
Female senior 3.16
Female Junior and U16 3.55
Tandem 5.18

If anyone is thinking of driving over let me know and we can maybe make mutual travel arrangements.
It has been known for serious contenders to have a bike brought out especially for the climb or even save their legs and forego the ride there.

All are welcome

Cheers Nick for coming out and officiating, much appreciated.
Pity there were not more competitors and supporters this year, but well done to those that did compete and gave it everything in the pain cave, it's easy to ride up these hills, but another thing to race up them.
Thanks for Adam H for leading the ride and helping with timekeeping and Cliff for pushing off.

Agreed Austin! Thank you Nick, Adam and Cliff! Much appreciated.

I had some mates up from Birmingham who joined in the fun. The H.C. was their first ever TT and they all enjoyed it.
Thanks everyone for making them feel so welcome #friendliestclubinthenortheast

Amazing time for Tim... looking good for the National HC in a few weeks
Congrats to Miriam on ANOTHER Jr Girls record :)
