Many thanks to Richard for organising the final 25 mile TT in my abscence. I believe all went well and a small but perfectly formed group had good conditions and out of 11 riders there were 4 PBs and a DNF. I`m told it was a fast night and these results would seem to bear that out.
Charie Tomson made his 25m TT debut, having ridden the 10 for the first time 2 weeks before. He managed a creditable 1:08:24 on his road bike.
Vicky Gibbs, Alex Daniels Martin Rasmussen and Roger Clarke all managed 5 year PBs, although of note Roger held the Vags record on this course with a 57.27 for 17 years, without ever going under the hour again. Must have been some float night that!
The standings below are correct as far as we know now, there were one or two anomilies which crept in over the last few spreadsheets.
Things look pretty tight at the top of the Vets Short Bar again this year, between Dave and Ken, and there`s still a lot of competition for the final place on the podium of the overall Short Bar from completed riders and an opportunity for gatecrashers from the Two Rides table in the mix too, although Lewis Wake and Ken Thursbys top two spots look safe.
Vicky Gibbs is assured of all the womens prizes, being the only female to do more than one ride this year.
Suggestions for a road bike category next year have been mooted and hopefully will add to next years competition, and we have our hill climb on 21st September to look forward to before that.
