The club runs a series of 10 and 25 mile time trials on Thursday evenings during the summer, starting and finishing at Ponteland. These events are ideal for beginners and experienced riders alike. Non-members are welcome to try one of the 10 mile time trials before joining the club. Members of other cycling clubs are also welcome to ride.
Entry to these time trials is on the night. Meet in the car park behind Ponteland shopping centre from 6:30pm to sign on and receive your race number. You must have signed on by 6:50pm; first rider starts at 7pm. The entry fee is £2.
Each time trial is a counting event in our season long Best All Rounder competition. To qualify, a rider must complete two 10 mile and one 25 mile time trials. The BAR rankings are based on the average of the three average speeds from a rider's best times throughout the season, and the rankings will be updated after each event.
The club hill climb takes place on the first Sunday in October at Sandhoe near Hexham.
